Express Entry: IRCC issues 7,000 ITAs in third consecutive week

Inviting 7,000 applicants to submit an application for permanent residency (PR) in Canada, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held an all-program Express Entry draw for the third week in a row.

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program were all three programmes handled by Express Entry that were again taken into consideration by IRCC in the fifth all-program draw of 2023. (FSTP).

Following a surprise draw on Thursday, the IRCC issued 7,000 invites to applicants in the Express Entry pool in today’s draw, tying the previous record for the biggest all-program draw in history established on March 15, 2023.

Express Entry applicants were called to the draw on March 29, 2023, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 481, which is three points lower than the cut-off score from the draw last week (minimum CRS score of 484). The cut-off CRS score has decreased for the second straight draw, less than a week after the March 15th draw, when it decreased by six points (minimum CRS score of 490).

Notwithstanding the unpredictability of Express Entry in 2023, candidates who are still in the pool should anticipate another draw in around two weeks.

About Express Entry

The Express Entry application management system is used by Canada’s federal government to handle immigration applications from three programs – the CEC, the FSWP and the FSTP. These programs work together to bring foreign skilled workers into this country because Canada uses Express Entry as one means of offering permanent residence (PR) to interested candidates.

Candidates have 60 days from the moment they get their ITA to finish and submit an online application to IRCC for Canadian PR.
